Metalco make a wide range HDG steel grating that has a high load-bearing capacity with a low dead weight. The applications are very diverse, as grating is used everywhere in industry and architecture from light platform flooring to the heavy duty industry. Grating is installed in refineries, power stations, steel mills, mines and on oil platforms.

How we make it

• All grating panels can be provided either in standard sizes or manufactured to custom sizes
• From steel 37-2, 44 grades or even stainless steel, bearing bars cut to the required width and be serrated or not according to customer requirement and then welded to the cross bars perpendicularly using CO2 welding
• The deep penetration caused by CO2 welding provide a very strong welding joint which enhance the static and dynamic load capacity of grating
• After fabricating the panel is submerged in the hot zinc basin to be galvanized according to ASTM A123 & ISO 1461 Standards
• Finishing processes are applied to give the grating its shine and smooth appearance

General Specifications

• Bearing Bar: is the flat bar that gives the load bearing capacity
• Cross Bar: bar that connects bearing bars by CO2 welding, it can be either twisted bar or full flat bar
• Mesh Opening: is the distance between bearing bars and cross bars (center to center)

Types of Grating according to load capacity

Light/ medium duty grating:

• Used for pedestrian walk way and motor cars way
• Bearing bar varying from 3:5mm
• Perpendicular twisted cross bar 6mm

Heavy duty grating:

• Used for trucks and trailer way
• Bearing bar starts from 5mm
• Perpendicular full flat cross bar

All cut outs can be applied as per client demand
